Life Isn’t Easy: Give Yourself Permission To Be Happy

Life Isn’t Easy:  Give Yourself Permission To Be Happy

hold happiness in your hands

Life isn’t easy, there’s no denying that. However, it gets a little less painful when you give yourself permission to be happy.

Try it…allow yourself to be happy just for today. Tell yourself you deserve happiness. You’re a beautiful, wonderful human being.

Even if you don’t recognize the grace you hold, it’s there, and someone has seen it…felt it. We are ALL beautiful creatures in our own unique way. Discover what sets you apart…discover the light in your heart.

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”
― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Life is sooo very brief, in the scheme of things. Think about how you want to live yours…in limbo, waiting for happiness and love to show up on your doorstep? That’s just not going to happen, so think again.

Wake up! Stop sleep walking through your existence. Make choices, laugh, experience…love freely.

When you can love yourself and offer your love to another, THEN, you will receive pure love in return…and, happiness.

None of this is original thinking, or anything you haven’t heard before. No, I’m just here to germinate the seed already planted in your heart.

Let the seed grow. Nurture it. Feed it. Water it. Give it light. Feel it spring up within your very core…feel it set your soul on fire!

*“As if you were on fire from within.
The moon lives in the lining of your skin.”*
― Pablo Neruda

Namaste
I bow to you in recognition of the soul within

Have Women Really Given Up On Their Dreams?

facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestmail

I heard on the radio that a recent study showed that women, in general, have given up on their dreams. That was it. Then, they went back to playing the next song. Just like that.

Immediately, I felt very distressed, hearing this. Then, I felt a little offended and maybe a tad outraged at the notion that women could be throwing in the towel after achieving so much over the last 50 to 100 years.
votes for women
Ultimately, I felt a bit agitated with the radio personality (which happened to have been a woman) due to the fact that there wasn’t enough info given. I mean, who are these women? I know it’s a generalization, but still, can we have an age group, perhaps? Also, what dreams are we talking about here: relationship, career, personal goals??? The more I thought about it, the more angry I felt at HER! You can’t just drop a bomb like that, without some back up stats. I mean, come on, woman! Do your job…throw us a bone…give some hope, a ray of sunshine to go with that dismal revelation. No wonder we’re giving up on our dreams! ha ha

Perhaps I’m over reacting? I’m just annoyed at how she could make a statement like that with no explanation. No details. Not even a mention with who actually conducted the study.

I heard this yesterday morning, it’s really stuck with me for some reason.
It has me wondering about my own dreams and the ones I may have given up on.

After doing a little research, I found that there actually was some work put into these results. The first ever Global Dreams Index Survey was conducted and found that half of the world’s female population feel that dreams are silly, unrealistic and not what grown ups do. Why??? Continue reading

10 Things I’d Like To Tell My Younger Self

me 1979

Yea, yea, there’s something to be said for experiencing life on your own and learning from ALL those mistakes along the way.  I know I’ve said it hundreds of times, “I’ve learned something from all my mistakes and they have made me who I am today”.  But still, there’s a part of me that would love to have a conversation with my younger self that might send her off in a different trajectory.  And, it’s not all about the mistakes I’ve made; no, it’s mostly about having confidence, trusting in myself and living a spiritual life that I wish I had started practicing in a much earlier part of my life.  These are the things I’d like to tell my younger self.

Now that I’m 50-something, I feel like I see things so much more clearly than I did when I was 20 or even 30.  There’s much to be said for being a  50 year old woman.  With age comes wisdom, and so, we’ve all been told.   Just in case, some day, we have the know how to travel back in time, I’ve narrowed it down to 10 things I’d like to tell my younger self…maybe start her off knowing she is loved.  And, who knows, maybe some sweet 20 year old girl will read  this and it will change her path just enough to get her to 50 a little less broken. How Stress Effects The Body

stress

Understanding the mechanics of stress gives you the advantage of being more aware of and sensitive to your own level of stress and knowing when and how to take proactive steps. This increased awareness also helps you to better care for your family, friends and colleagues. Here are a few stress facts that many people are unaware of:

Stress Facts

Fact #1:Your body doesn’t care if it’s a big stress or a little one.

The human body doesn’t discriminate between a BIG stress or a little one. Regardless of the significance, stress affects the body in predictable ways. A typical stress reaction, which most of us experience dozens of times each day, begins with a cascade of 1,400 biochemical events in your body. If these reactions are left unchecked we age prematurely, our cognitive function is impaired, our energy is drained, and we are robbed of our effectiveness and clarity. Continue reading

Menopause Brain Fog Treatment:  Free E-book Brain Health Protocol

brain fog out of order

Ever have a day (or a week or even a month)  where you just didn’t feel fully awake and a little fuzzy?  Maybe you’ve  had trouble remembering simple daily tasks like putting the clothes in the dryer or forgot essential items at the market and had to make a second (or third) trip.  Or, maybe you’ve had difficulty with concentration and unable to form a clear thought to put into words.   If you’re going through menopause or already through it, chances are you’ve experienced one or all of these symptoms.

Did you know that there’s actually a thing called “menopause brain fog”?  Some researchers suggest that the fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels, which are the primary cause of most menopause symptoms, can be linked to menopause brain fog.  Most common signs include poorer memory and cognitive decline (problems with thinking).  Now, you’re wondering about a menopause brain fog treatment right?

First, let’s take a look at what exactly menopause brain fog is all about…

Reiki Healing Therapy: Is It For You?

Reiki Healing Therapy:  Is It For You?

Is Reiki healing something you’ve always wondered about, but weren’t really sure who to ask?  Wondering if Reiki Healing Therapy is for you? Here, I will give you a brief introduction to what Reiki healing therapy is and what happens during a typical treatment, as well as the healing benefits that are possible.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese name consisting of 2 words Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life energy (commonly known as Universal Life Energy), an energy which animates us all and is found all around us. Reiki helps to harmonize body, mind and spirit for yourself or anyone you want to help.

Reiki healing therapy  is a form of alternative medicine or spiritual healing developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui.  Reiki was introduced to the USA and Canada in the 70’s.  It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands-on-healing. Through the use of this technique, practitioners transfer “universal energy” through the palms of the practitioner by placing them lightly on or just above the recipient’s body, which  encourages healing. Being Ok With Being 50

Being Ok With Being 50

For me, turning 30 was much more traumatic than turning 50.  There’s truth to the saying, “with age comes wisdom”.  Don’t you feel so much “smarter” at 50?  I know I do and wouldn’t go back for anything!  Turning 50 doesn’t mean your life is over, or soon to be.  With new research in medicine and more social awareness on how to live healthier, people are living longer than they did back in the mid 20th century.  So, 50 really is the new 30.
