Life isn’t easy, there’s no denying that. However, it gets a little less painful when you give yourself permission to be happy.
Try it…allow yourself to be happy just for today. Tell yourself you deserve happiness. You’re a beautiful, wonderful human being.
Even if you don’t recognize the grace you hold, it’s there, and someone has seen it…felt it. We are ALL beautiful creatures in our own unique way. Discover what sets you apart…discover the light in your heart.

Life is sooo very brief, in the scheme of things. Think about how you want to live yours…in limbo, waiting for happiness and love to show up on your doorstep? That’s just not going to happen, so think again.
Wake up! Stop sleep walking through your existence. Make choices, laugh, experience…love freely.
When you can love yourself and offer your love to another, THEN, you will receive pure love in return…and, happiness.
None of this is original thinking, or anything you haven’t heard before. No, I’m just here to germinate the seed already planted in your heart.
Let the seed grow. Nurture it. Feed it. Water it. Give it light. Feel it spring up within your very core…feel it set your soul on fire!

I heard on the radio that a recent study showed that women, in general, have given up on their dreams. That was it. Then, they went back to playing the next song. Just like that.
Immediately, I felt very distressed, hearing this. Then, I felt a little offended and maybe a tad outraged at the notion that women could be throwing in the towel after achieving so much over the last 50 to 100 years.
Ultimately, I felt a bit agitated with the radio personality (which happened to have been a woman) due to the fact that there wasn’t enough info given. I mean, who are these women? I know it’s a generalization, but still, can we have an age group, perhaps? Also, what dreams are we talking about here: relationship, career, personal goals??? The more I thought about it, the more angry I felt at HER! You can’t just drop a bomb like that, without some back up stats. I mean, come on, woman! Do your job…throw us a bone…give some hope, a ray of sunshine to go with that dismal revelation. No wonder we’re giving up on our dreams! ha ha
Perhaps I’m over reacting? I’m just annoyed at how she could make a statement like that with no explanation. No details. Not even a mention with who actually conducted the study.
I heard this yesterday morning, it’s really stuck with me for some reason.
It has me wondering about my own dreams and the ones I may have given up on.

People say that age doesn’t matter and it’s just a number. And, I believe this to be true. Still, there is no denying the simple fact that I am 55.
I have gray hair, that you’ll likely never see;
I have too many freckles…and wrinkles, my gifts from years of worshiping the sun.
I have stretch marks across my once perfect belly, the cost of motherhood and the blessings of a beautiful baby boy
I am lumpy in places that just isn’t natural. I have back fat and cellulite. My skin is giving in to the Earth’s gravitational pull…saggy and droopy where once nice and taught

My Nutrition Mission
The idea for my nutrition mission really began with just my own health and weight loss goals in mind. However, after seeing my progress and what I’ve been been able to accomplish over the the last 18 mos, my friends and family…and even strangers…have been asking me what my secret is. Mostly, they mean my weight loss and some have asked about my youthful skin and over all younger than-my-age appearance. Their words, not mine.
Jokingly, while a friend and I were chatting about her weight loss goals, we came up with the slogan “nutrition mission” and how it should be my motto. After we both laughed about it, we thought, “hey, that’s not a bad idea, really!”
So, with a little nudging from my friend, I started working on this article. It’s nothing special, mostly common sense. But, sometimes it takes hearing about, and seeing what someone else has done in order to get the motivational ball rolling. My hope is that something, even one thing, that I share will resonate and work for you, too! That is my real nutrition mission!

10 Things I’d Like To Tell My Younger Self
Yea, yea, there’s something to be said for experiencing life on your own and learning from ALL those mistakes along the way. I know I’ve said it hundreds of times, “I’ve learned something from all my mistakes and they have made me who I am today”. But still, there’s a part of me that would love to have a conversation with my younger self that might send her off in a different trajectory. And, it’s not all about the mistakes I’ve made; no, it’s mostly about having confidence, trusting in myself and living a spiritual life that I wish I had started practicing in a much earlier part of my life. These are the things I’d like to tell my younger self.
Now that I’m 50-something, I feel like I see things so much more clearly than I did when I was 20 or even 30. There’s much to be said for being a 50 year old woman. With age comes wisdom, and so, we’ve all been told. Just in case, some day, we have the know how to travel back in time, I’ve narrowed it down to 10 things I’d like to tell my younger self…maybe start her off knowing she is loved.
